No concrete decision by MYAS and IOA on karate team participating in Asian Games

The office bearers of the Indian Olympic Association are not only unaware of the functioning of global sports bodies but also do not understand the Olympic Charter. Thier inexperience in sports administration is coming in the way.  Not only this, the officials sitting in the Sports Authority of India and the Sports Ministry have been continuously taking wrong decisions for sports in India even after understanding the international sports methodology and the dignity of the Olympic  Charter.

They also mislead the courts.  During the hearing in the Delhi High Court regarding the selection of Karate sports team for the Asian Games, the Sports Ministry did not revealed before court that the world organization of any sport is the real surveyor of a particular sport, its rules and decisions are paramount.  The result is that the court orders that SAI select the team as per the rules of the Indian Olympic Association.  Now the inexperienced officials of the Indian Olympic Association neither read the Olympic Charter nor their own constitution, which clearly states that before taking any decision in any disputed matter of any sport, they should consult the relevant world body of that Sport.

To participate in the Asian Games, the Olympic Council of Asia has clearly written in its letter dated March 7 that for the Asian Games, only the entries of the National Olympic Committee will be valid, which are approved by the concerned National Sports Federation, which is the further affiliated with International Sports Federation and the Asian Sports federation.  In such a situation, how will the team participate in the Asian Games without the approval of the National Sports Federation?  

Not only this, Espinos, President of the World Karate Federation, has clearly written in his letter to PT Usha, President of the Indian Olympic Association on March 6, 2023, to recognize the WKF-affiliated Karate India Organization and respect the Olympic Charter.  

The WKF President in his letter to the IOC on 9 May 2023 has spoken about the disrespect of the Olympic Charter happening in India and has also appealed to the IOC to intervene in the matter.

So how will the WKF allow the Indian karate team selected by SAI for the Asian Games?

The Indian Olympic Association, Sports Ministry of India and SAI together are not only spoiling the future of the sportspersons but also pulling the wool over eyes the court.
